HETTY CLEWS,
Ph.D. was
born in England, emigrated to Canada with physician husband in
1958. Educated to first degree at the University of
Birmingham; graduate and post graduate degrees in Theology and
Literature from the University of Saskatchewan.
Four children, eight
grandchildren. Lifetime teacher at every level from
kindergarten to graduate school, mainly English but also drama
and theatre; award-winning actor and director. Retired
from the University of Victoria in 1989. Still active as
teacher in Continuing Education and as actor or director in
local theatre productions. Published author of critical
studies, poetry, short stories and plays.
